Saturday morning we opened our envelope and found out we were headed to Shanghai, China!!
Friday night we met all the other competitors and had a great dinner at the Pink Taco in L.A. Saturday we were off. The only negative was a really long plane ride in a painfully uncomfortable plane - 14 hours!! Unfortunately customs took over 2 hours to settle so we ended up at the Grand Hyatt Shanghai at about 9pm.
Bill and I had a fantastic dinner at the hotel. That was the best fried rice I have ever had! Can't wait to sample more dishes while we are here. The hotel is amazing. Our room is on the 70th floor and there is a center atrium that goes all the way up to the 85th floor.
Well tomorrow we meet at 9am and get our scavenges. Can't wait to try the scavenges and see Shanghai!

Getting Closer!
Friday is the day we meet all our competitors in LA. I'm hoping we learn where our first destination is on Friday. The suspense is killing me!!
So, we now have our malaria meds and antibiotics for traveler's diarrhea in case. The trip is now a reality and not a dream. I think just seeing these meds and knowing that we will be going places where they will be necessary has moved things to a different level.
We are still packing and preparing - hope I don't forget the passport!
